I will always Care

Corona Collection: A collective poem, co-created internationally on July 18, 2020

I will always care

for the flourish of birds

and the songs

they enliven

in

me

for the natural

world

the supernatural

world

the holy beings

walking

on the earth

the blessed beings

flying

in the air

the sacred beings

swimming

in the water

I will always care

for water, gentle,

clear, pure

being, bringing us

connection

and unity

I will always care for

my teachers

one of them

is sitting

on my feet

right now, panting

asking for comfort

as the clouds

roll in

and thunder

I will always care for us,

I will

always

be here in this present,

just as its name,

I will always

care for you

and

the tender heart

of others

I will always care

for these stories

that I

have been blessed

to hear,

carrying them with me,

and finding ways

for these offerings

to bear

medicine and wisdom

in

the world

I will always

care for listening

to all the world's

exquisite

whisperings

offered as gifts

the story

that

every

person brings

and the gift of care

that each one

brings

to tell a story

to others

then

we can tell

our collective story

to

the

world

I could not care

for intentional betrayal,

deceit, exploitation,

taking advantage

of

another

for intentional harming

of another

I could never care

for those

who have replaced

the concept

of common good

with the right of the rich

to make

still

more

money

I could never care

for thoughtlessness

for not

caring

because

not caring

would mean that I

let

myself

forget

I could never care

for letting a moment

go by

where unkindness

is taken

for granted

for hardened

hearts

and unkind acts,

though I will always

care

for the stories

behind

I will always care

for the light

in your eyes

that has

lit up my heart

and shown me

my Way

I will always care
